Not sure which one you have?
  • Original Medicare only: the only health card you use is your Medicare card. You may also have a separate drug plan card.
  • Medicare Advantage: you have a card from a private company that says HMO, PPO or Medicare Advantage, and you show that card instead of the Medicare card at the doctor.
  • Medicare Supplement: you have a card from a private company that says Medicare Supplement or Medigap and shows a plan letter. You show it along with the Medicare card.
  • None yet: you have no Medicare card at all, because you are coming up on 65 or have put off signing up.

What we check

Three questions, one minute

1

Are you overpaying?

Every Plan G covers the same things by law, and so does every Plan N. Only the price is different. For Advantage plans, we compare yours to the $0 plans in your county.

2

Are there gaps?

We look at your plan's star rating, the most it could make you pay in a year, and what your plan leaves out. It all comes from Medicare's public plan data.

3

Can you change now?

When you can change plans depends on your birthday, your state and the time of year. We show what is open today and what opens next.
